Air Force Academy Library aids cadet's education. Presently, there are 200thousand books, 9thousand thesis papers and 16thousand visual publication. Specially, 28thousand of professional publications related to military/aviation. In the future, Air Force Academy Library will build an electronic library which is suitable in education environment of information oriented society.

1953. 07 Established Air Force Academy Library.
1994. 09 Extended and Opened the combination of Air Force Central Library.
1997. 10 Computerization of library management and continuous upgrade.
2000. 08 Operated perfectly open all equipments and book shelves.
Operation of library reference service system through the intranet started.
2002. 01 JDDS(Jane's Defence Data Service) through the intranet started.
2006. 01 e-Book through the internet and intranet started.
Open the Multimedia room.
2006. 04 Library was combined into Education Research and Information Center
2006. 07 Bibliographic Retrieval Service throught the intranet started
2007. 01 Homepage Service throught internet started
2008. 04 "The week of Library" event
2011. 10 e-book throught smartphone service started
2012. 12 2012 Library exhibition, "Healing trip to Library", on movie and books
2013. 02 Publication of monthly magazine the "ROK AFA Library"
2013. 06 Renovation of multimedia reference room (Installation of DVD viewing, multiple seats for group movie sessions, and Personal Computer)
2013. 06 Built composite reading room and resting room on the first floor
2014. 03 Library was combined into Education department
2014. 06 Renovation of equipment(1st floor), Internet homepage & server
2015. 12 Book management programme(Tulip 3.0) throught the internet started
2017. 01 Renovation started
2018. 05 Renovation finished and re-opened

Main Function

  • Collection, compilation, preservation of different informative resources and providing services necessary for the university education.
  • Provide assistance to achieve effective course of study.
  • Provide services and mutual cooperation to other libraries and related institutions.
  • Providing functional duties and other necessary tasks as a university library.
