Sung Moo Tower
On April 11th 1996, the 10th memorial day of the 4th Cadet's commission. The President of the Republic of Korea, Park, Jung-Hee, ordered that the Korea Air Force Academy be called Sung-Moo Dae. "Knowledge", "Virtue", "Courage". These words are the motto for the Korea Air Force Academy. On December 20th 1966, we established Sung Moo Tower which is a symbol of the sky, leader, and five elements on Seoul campus for the commemorative event of the graduation of the 15~18th Cadet. On March 30th 1986, we expanded to establish the Sung Moo Tower to the Chung-Ju campus. It involves a symbol of the Cadet's ideal; the spirit of
defense of the fatherland, and sacrifice for their homeland. Three pairs of oars, holding up the round ball, are symbols of the Air Force's Distinctive Quality, Youth, and Mission. The white body is a symbol of the Cadet's Ideal, Desire, and Unity. Fourteen Hangs are symbols of the fourteen provinces of the Republic of Korea.
Boramae (Young Hawk) Tower
The Boramae Tower, in front of the Cadet's hall on the Boramae Square, is a symbol of the index for the Cadet's spirit. It was established on March 20th 1988. For the Cadet who will be a leader of the 21th century Air Force and Aerospace, this Tower is a symbol of (Sung Mu Dae) the Korea Air Force Academy which is the birthplace of studying the Knowledge, Virtue, and Physical Strength for safeguard of the fatherland. There is a sculpture of cadets lifting up the World ( Earth ). It is a symbol of the safety and prosperity of nation. There is a Boramae sculpture on the top of the Tower. It shows that infinite growth (or possibility) and advance.
There is the Cadet's creed on the square wall, and the sculptures of four cadets are a symbol of Knowledge, Virtue, health, spirit. It is emphasized that the Cadets of the Korea Air Force Academy are leading part of the period of Aerospace.
A Statue of Captain Lim, Taek-Sun
The late Captain Lim, Taek-Sun was one of the 1st cadets at the Korea Air Force Academy. Since the Korea Air Force Academy was established, he was the first pilot to die during an air battle. He died in the Kosung battle on March 6th 1953. We established this bronze statue to cherish the memory of him, because he was the first pilot from the Korea Air Force Academy who died a glorious death for the Republic of Korea. On the pedestal of the bronze statue is engraved "Bravery". It was written by the President of the Republic of Korea's handwriting, Lee Sung-Man. This bronze statue was funded by the Cadets' donations from the 1st to 33rd term Cadets.
Statue of Patriotism (Ho-Cook Statue)
On the upper side of the fountain, there are sculptures of abstracts of ultra-modernistic aircraft. It shows the spirit of the Korea Air Force Academy. The fountain is a symbol of the Cadet's morale and indomitable will for supremacy in the air. It was established on March 30th 1986
The Tower of Ten Mottos for the Korea Air Force Academy
This tower displays the motto for the Cadets at the Korea Air Force Academy which are education and ideals. It is a symbol of the Cadet's code of conduct and practical morality. Therefore, it is the way of the Cadets' life and a motto for the Cadets' lifetime, It was established on March 30th 1986.
The Relief about the Cadet's Life
On the Cadets' hall, there is the relief about the Cadets' life on the right and left sides of granite walls. On the right side of wall, there is the relief about the Cadets' training and education. On the left side of wall, there is the relief about the Cadets' life after being commissioned, training to be a pilot, and home life. Those represent are all about the pride for the Cadets.
The Sculpture of the Eagle
At the graduation of the 40th Cadets, the sculpture of an eagle was dedicated. The purpose of the establishment of the eagle was to display the pride of a winner in the sky, with an intrepid spirit. The stainless steel is a symbol of a flying machine's material, the slope is a symbol of the runway, and the eagle is posed landing. It was unveiled on June 22nd 1992.
The Sculpture of Helmet (HELMET)
At the graduation of the 41st Cadets, the sculpture of a helmet was dedicated. It is a symbol of the fighters on the first fighting line. It shows the Cadet's image of the future. To instill more love for their country, Cadets are with teachings of Nosan and the royal summons. It was unveiled on December 19th 1992.
The Sculpture of Blue Narae
At the graduation of the 42~45th Cadets, it was built in front of the Sungmumun Hall on March 7th 1994. The pedestal of this sculpture is marble, and there is a bronze sculpture. It is a symbol of flying male and female Cadets, who will be the future leaders in Aerospace.
