November 16th, the President allowed the transfer. Therefore, the official process had the beginning of 1985, and by the end of the year, the Air Force was able to transfer its components one by one, starting with the Head-Quarter, Faculty Division, Cadet Division, Base Division, and the hospital. On December 21st of the same year, finally, the transfer process to ChungJu has been officially completed.
The school was able to form a solid foundation as an educational facility that would promise to lead the future of aerospace era. Upon the completion of the transfer to ChungJu Campus, the focus was on improving educational environment, process, staffs, etc. By 1997, female cadets were eligible to enter for the first time as a result of the school's hard effort. In 1997, the first 20 female cadets enrolled as 49th term and this was a historical event. Enrollment and completion of basic training, and care for those cadets by our citizens continues today. The most notable change in the organizational chart of our school is that our status
has been raised since August 1st 1987. In addition to the school's move, 212 airbase, which is in charge of beginner's air training course, was transferred to our school, and Chungwon base changed its title to SongMu base.
The Office of Academic Evaluation changed its title to Research and Development Office in order to help improve the function of our school. However, in 1993, the title was changed back to Office of Academic Evaluation. In preparation for the future Aeronautical Space Era, Aeronautical Space Research Laboratory was found in 1988, additionally, the Personal Aptitude Research Center with the purpose of researching pilots' physical and mental ability. In 1995, the two organizations were combined and operated under one roof. Our school, ChungJu campus is completely equipped with the most modernized educational system
and enjoyable environment that will lead the cadets to have more self-esteem as well as a better quality of life. The school library opened in 1997, and by the year of 1999, 12,7000 books were obtained as well as various visual aids. In order to keep up with the information age, personal notebook computers with intranet feature were given to each cadet, teaching staff, and discipline proctor. For sake of successful learning of the female cadets, the female Complex Hall was built in October of 1996.
Since 1980, a Road Test facility, PoongDong Sub-Sonic Labaratory, and individual combat drill facility were constructed for the purpose of teaching martial spirit and faith in certain victory to cadets. We changed our objective from simply 'training pilots' to 'training the best airmen who will lead the future of Aeronautical Space Era', followed by changing requirements for newly coming female cadets, adding new major field of studies. In order to educate the cadets with more specialized and systematized study of militarism, we added National Defense major, resulting in a total of 10 major fields of studies.
Also, to match with the globalization, and keep up with the changes of the world, we have enrolled 1 cadet from Thailand each year beginning in 1994.
