Most graduates work as fighter pilots, Air Cargo or other supporting air crew.
General Officers are given commissions which support the work above sky directly/ indirectly with their own military occupational specialities. They support directly in Air Traffic Control, Air Defence Artillery, the meteorological control, Information, flight weapon repair or support indirectly in Education, Logistics & Transportation, Engineering, Administration, Persons Administration, Troop information and education, Intelligence, Military Police, Judge Advocate, Military Religion and medical affairs.
Graduates who work as officers in Air Force are fully supported in their continuing education through military educational facilities or civilian universities for their improvement of work while they are on duties. Military educational facilities are Air Force College's junior courses and high-class courses, National Defence University, other an institution's courses of study and foreign college's command and the staff study.
Graduates can complete a graduate and post graduate degrees at civilian universities by type of education in trust. Officers who were selected by test can complete their education in trust at National Seoul University, Yonsei University, Korea University, KAIST and Pohang Institute of Technology.
Most of graduates follow the way to become Air Force's commanders, but, when they finish their duties as officers, they can advance to civilian companies. The service term is depend on officers' military occupational specialities; Rear services takes ten years and Pilot services is fifteen years. However, they can apply early discharge from military service such as rear services and some parts of pilot services ( rear sit pilots, tactical aviation controllers and assistant pilots ) takes five years, and officers who are in charge of controling fighters can be transferred after ten years of their service. In case of pilot officers, when they finished their service, they can advance to civilian airlines. In fact, the top of pilots in civilian airlines are graduates from the Air Force Academy.
