Welcome to the Republic of Korea Air Force Academy (KAFA) website.

Since its establishment in 1949, KAFA has produced approximately 8,500 elite Air Force officers, being the cradle for Boramae (young hunter hawks, symbolic animal for KAFA cadets).

After 4 years of education here at the Air Force Academy, cadets are commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants upon graduation. Not only do they soar as fighter pilots, but also the newly commissioned officers proficiently work in 20 different specialty areas including air weapon maintenance, air traffic communication, and air defense artillery. Simultaneously, they protect airspace while standing at the core of the Air Force.

Not only cadets receive bachelor's degree, but also they broaden the horizon of their understanding of the world through various exchange students and visiting programs with Japan, the United States, and many more. Some of the KAFA graduates further their education by receiving master's and doctoral degrees at renowned institutions in and out of Korea. After being released from the service, they contribute not only to the development of the aerospace science, but also to the society at large.

As repeatedly proven by modern warfares, the outcome of a war depends largely on the air power of which importance only grows greater.

KAFA does its best to defend our nation and to prepare for its future by raising the elite personnels equipped with aerospace specific knowledge, superior leadership and fervent sense of responsibility.
